Default temporary rough idle after pumping gas

got a weird issue this morning.
so I pumped gas and then started my car, started fine but the gauge doesn't read to the full mark, it's just on the 3/4 mark. i turned it off and then turn the ignition to "ON" (not starting the car) for maybe 10s (to check gauge going up all the way) and then crank it to start. gauge is still at 3/4 mark but it idled rough WTH, then i just let it idle for a minute and it smooth out after that.. no drivability issues after 20miles of driving to work and the gauge slowly creep up to full mark.. what's up with the fuel gauges, is my fuel pump on the way out?
so i'm not sure what happened, was it bad gas or moisture(water) in the fuel system since it's been cold and raining for a week.
