Default Inake with ProCal

Hey guys, I have on my car a Ford Racing ProCal 93 tune. I am not here to get bashed about that I just have a question. Does the ProCal change your A/F ratio to where I can run a C&L intake on my car with out throwing a CEL?

I know with aftermarket intakes you tend to run lean. I think the 2010 V6 intake is less restrictive then the 05-09 intake. Do you think I can do this without any issues?

Tuning maps are for a specific MAF size. If the after market CAI has an identical MAF orifice, it should work.

so your saying if the opening on the part of the CAI where the MAF is located is bigger in circumference then the stock size it will throw a code?

A larger orifice will pass more air for the same signal levels. So if the after market MAF tube is larger than what the maps are designed for, the engine will run lean. Depending on which FRPP CAI your procal tune is for, the maps will be calibrated for either 90mm or 85mm. The latter is for the Bullitt style CAI.

yeah so it didnt work, I put the C&L in and the car would bog down when I gave it gas around 2k RPMS. Besides BBK, does the Ford Racing CAI have the same size as the stock air mass meter housing as the stock intake?

I want an intake under the hood, but obviously not if it is going to affect the cars drive-ability.

How do you like your FRPP pro cal tune? did it make a big difference in your V6? is your gas mileage effected alot for better or worse? I was thinking about getting that tune for my '10 V6 from dealer. I know I already read people say to get another tune. But I was just curious as to what you think of FRPP tune. thanks

If you're looking for an xcal 2 I have one being unlocked by SCT. You can certainly get a tune written for your C & L on that. PM me if you are interested.

Just noticed your an '10. Double check to see if the XCal 2 works on that late a model.

I think the tune really opened up the car, she pulls a lot harder then before. I think it was worth the money, my MPG's havent really changed, i am getting 19-21 MPG calculating it by hand. I was going ot do a bama tune, but they told me they can not make one for my computer code for some retarted reason. I would ge tthe FRPP tune..
