Heater not working

Explain 'bad heating core'.
How is it bad, exactly?
Plugged? doubt it...
Leaking? it will still heat...
Missing? someone stole it?

Have at it...

turn off the AC, I assume in Nevada you have been using it. J/K
Is the fan motor working, do you have air flow? Just not heat.
I haven't used my heat lately, but with the "recirculate cabin air" button pressed, will it still feed heat or AC into the ducts? Sorry I don't remember. That might be something to check. (Recirculate button = button with 2 arrows making a circle)
Another thing...If the thermostat is stuck wide open it will take forever to heat up, are you giving it enough time to heat-up to cross that possibility off the list?

It 'recirculates' the air in the cabin, i.e. into the blower,
across the heater core and back out thru the vents...
If its off, the air is drawn in thru the cabin air filter and
goes out thru the vents in the rear wheel well areas.
If the temp guage is reading anything, you should have
heat even if the thermo is stuck open. Not forever...
I would think your CCM is bad...

check the connections behind the heater controls to make sure they are tight. if anyone has done any work with the stereo there is a chance that they pulled loose one of these connections. it will result in problems like you describe. there are 2 plugs, left and right side, directly behind the dials in the center console

You know what I mean, and where I was going with it!

Ya it blows out fine. all connections are tight. radio n all is stock. i drive 5 miles to work in the am being 60 degrees outside by the time i get to work its still cold air. I did take the **** off the hot/cold and noticed w/o the **** it will keep turning and turning. so i turned it about three times around towards heat. still nothing
