Default Am I the only one???

I have a 05 v6 with a 4 gauge cluster. On AmericanMucle the only 4 gauge cluster is for GTs. Sooo I'm trying to figure out why mine would have the 4 gauge. (I did buy my mustang used with 72000 miles)

Are stock v6 usually 4 gauge or 6?

Mine is the 4 guage as well, I think they resolved with the later models, I sometimes would like to know what the oil pressure and what the battery readings are without having to hook the obd2 up to see what it says.

And I will add that if you would want to switch to a 6 gauge cluster, you would have to get ford to program the new cluster to work with your pcm.

I think most '05s had the 4 gauge cluster unless they had the my color option.
They then had a 6 gauge cluster.

Yeah, I've got a 2009 V6 with the 4 gauge. Sucks that most of the options for gauge clusters are 6-gauge. Oh well

Don't feel too bad about not having the oil and battery gauge. I have heard they are pretty much not accurate at all. The only real problem is the lack of aftermarket support for the 4 gauge cluster. No one wants to pay for the new cluster, face, and stealership programming, but having 2 empty gauges just looks bad. I believe most V6s came with 4 gauge clusters, especially 05-06s.

^ Too true, I have the 6 gauge and I never use to the oil and battery gauges anyway.

I have the 4 gauge over here and I like it just like that! Plus I have my ScanGauge II hooked up through the OBD and that reads out around 20 different parameters and does all other types of neat things.

Back in 2005, you needed the option code 18G Interior Upgrade Package for $450.00 in order to get the 6 gauge My Color instrument cluster. Cars without it had the 4 gauge instrument cluster as standard equipment.

INTERIOR UPGRADE PKG
-inc: bright polished (6) gauge instrument cluster w/MyColor feature, leather-wrapped steering wheel/shift ****, satin register vents, satin aluminum finish steering wheel spokes/instrument panel/door latches/door scuff plate, message center, Dark Charcoal Aberdeen pattern on front door panel inserts
