Any idea how this would sound?
So right now my exhaust setup is running straight pipes back from the cats to gt take offs. How would it sound if I added a set of long tube headers in there? And maybe a new set of axlebacks

I would keep the cats. But would that sort of offset any power I would make from the headers? And should I keep the gt takeoffs on the car if I plan on keeping the straight pipes? Or would buying a pair like pype bombs sound ok?

Would you keep the cats with the longtubes? If not its going to sound like crap I've heard 1 or 2 with long tube no cats and I don't think it sounds good. Also I do not know if there will be much benefit from long tubes on these motors.

Not to be a smart ***, but you guys don't think this sounds good? I'm actually considering going this route because of the sound. I've always avoided long tubes because of the clips I've heard and people saying how they regret it, but to me I thought this sounded really good. I've also heard you don't get any performance improvement, but I'm running the X-charger and would think with a proper tune, I should see some gain?
Anyway, I just wanted to get opinions on this particular clip, I didn't mean to threadjack! Sorry to the OP if I did.

With a supercharger, long tubes would help a little better than n/a.
There's plenty of decent-sounding exhaust setups, but it depends how loud you want it, too. Whatever you do, don't use a X-pipe! Been there, sounded like bees; that was with mac lt headers, high-flow cats and gt take-offs; even worse with straight pipes!
I've always liked more an open or straight-through exhaust sound on the v6, perhaps because it's just louder.
Removing the cats wont affect power much at all, but will definitely change the sound and smell of the exhaust; and if you are required to do emissions inspections, will fail.
