v6 Drive Shaft Incident

v6 Drive Shaft Incident
Last December I got my first Mustang, a 2012 v6. I got the base model because I wanted a project car that I could play with. About two months ago I had a supercharger put on it. After having some issues with the tune it came with I decided the best thing to do was to get a dyno tune.
I dropped the car off at a tuning shop on the weekend and expected to get it back the middle of the week. I didn't even think about the fact that to do a proper dyno tune with a supercharger they might have to bring the speed up above 100 mph (something I wouldn't do with normal driving).
I've heard about the drive shaft in the v6 not being able to take a lot of stress but everything I've seen had it failing over 130 mph. Being that this is a street car I'll never get to that speed so I had decided to stick with the stock part. This ended up being a very bad idea.
I got a call a few days later expecting to be told it was ready. Instead I was informed that I needed a new drive shaft. The bottom of the car got beat up a bit and I'll be getting the exhaust fixed next week. This turned out to be a not very fun lesson... All I can say is you learn from your mistakes.
Anyway here are some pictures of the drive shaft.

Yikes! I just replaced the stock shaft with a Shaftmasters 4" aluminum unit. I was lucky with mine, it survived a supercharger on the dyno several times, but I'm glad I changed it as it's a lot smoother now with no slop or play.
Good luck on your's, mabye you can get it warranteed. Although you aren't going to put a stock unit back in it I assume.
