STP Fuel Cleaner? Good or Bad?
STP Complete Fuel Cleaner
So I've been using STP to clean my fuel injectors every 5000 kms or so in the past on my old cars.
Now that I am soon buying a Mustang 2013, I was thinking, should I be using such products or are they just gimmicks or maybe even harmful?
The reason I am thinking this way, is I am thinking where does the dirt residues go after you clean the injectors with that fuel additive? I am afraid that it might go somewhere where it shouldn't and cause harm on the long run rather than any benefit
please advice
thanks

STP is the worst cheapest stuff you can get.
It ranks right up there with Fram Oil Filters (YUCK).
Consumer reports gave it a failing grade.
You might as well be flushing your $$ down the toilet.
Chevron Techron or Sea Foam is your best bang for the buck...
Not the cheaper Techron labeled product but the real CHEVRON Techron.
You want complete fuel system cleaner, not just injector cleaner
that flashes away when it gets to the backside of the valves...

Buying higher octane fuel doesn't come close to ensuring that you're getting a fuel that will clean your fuel system.
+1 on Techron and SeaFoam, although I save the SeaFoam for when I suspect a problem whereas I use Techron as preventive maintenance every oil change or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first.
