Water Leaking In from behind dashboard
Recently my 07 ford mustang has been leaking huge amounts of water from behind the dashboard/glovebox when it rains or if i drive through a lot of rain puddles or water drenched roadways, I had the windshield replaced by a questionable business and I had to take it back a couple times to have the windshield re-installed (dude was not was not happy about bringing it back but if he did it correctly in thee first place i wouldn't have to keep wasting each others time, lol) so I'm not sure if some type of drain plug is blocked or if something is missing? Anybody have any ideas of what this problem could be? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

the water is from the cowl area but is coming in thru the cabin filter. check your firewall drains. there is one just to the right of the battery, down on the fire wall, pull it out and clean it and reinstall. once you find that one, there is one on the drivers side in the same respective area, clean and reinstall. the cowl clip gaskets are another known problem. there are 10 of them and depending on the fix you go with, its either new gaskets with heat activated adhesive. I went with auto goop and just the clips, has worked good so far. if your carpet is wet, you should check your SJB for issues of corrosion as well, its mounted in the pass side kick panel. here is a link to some TSBs. credit to said forum. good luck

Most likely that drain grommet got plugged with crap...
The water will the rise and go through the cabin filter opening.
From there, your carpet will turn into a sponge.

Something else to consider; my son's Mustang had water coming in on the passenger side. The drain grommet was clean so when we jacked up the car to look underneath we noticed that the plastic shroud in the passenger wheel area was coming off because the plastic push type retainers had fallen out. So we believe that water was coming in through that area.
We bought replacement push type retainers at the local auto parts store and sealed up the plastic shroud.
