Rough idle?

no i have not found a fix, a mechanic told me it was the motor mounts going bad. but im thinking it is something electronically wrong because yes motor mounts help the roughness but the idle is so low and like you i replaced the cai with my stock one and it did the same thing not as worse but similar so i just put the cai back on. let me know how the vacuum leak goes.

That's could be an issue, hey why don't you try seafoaming your car? Just a thought. Not too sure about newer stangs but I'm assuming yours has a manifold absolute pressure sensor. That's a crucial sensor in the cars function and if the voltage is off problems will occur, look up the proper voltage for it on your car and test it if you can.

yeah im not quite sure but ive done a bunch of stuff and its just not working, since motor mounts are expensive i dont wanna jump to that conclusion. he said its because the vibration is causing the idle to idle low but i think vacuum leak is our best bet right now

A tank of bad gas immediately after a fuel filter could make it so you need another... I'll try the seafoam and new filter option. I have cleaned the TB before, just spraying carb cleaner good enough Nuke? How else would you clean it?

I tend to clean the TB without removing it but HAVE had the occasion where it required removal to properly clean behind it to resolve an idle problem. You should be able to remove it and reuse the gasket.
