for the factory mycolor, there is no switch to change your colors. you simply use the 3 buttons nearest the driver on the center console. you switch between miles and MPG using the info button. then you use the center button to do most of the mycolor stuff. the final button which is teh reset. this is teh one u use to actually create your own color. $400 is kind of steep for the gauge set up though. check your local jusnk yard. maybe youll get lucky and can pull the cluster off the wrecked one. good luck.

you cant do it yourself because you need to reflash the smart box. i did this like 8 months ago at the dealership my friend works at. the cluster was 225. the switch was 45 and the reflash and install was free because my friend and i did it i have heard people have paid about 75 bucks for it. as far as getting on from the junk yard i wouldnt remoend it due to the fact that you need to give them the mileage for the odomiter so that it matches. when i did mine i had 2500 miles on it so we had it set at 3000 figuring the week wait would work out. i actually had 4000 on it when we replaced it due to the wait. first you need to remove the cover next to the power socket to see if you have the wires. if you dont you would have to replace the wire harness in the dash. its about 500 bucks to do. so make sure you have the wires before you do anything. the whole thing takes about 30 min but the reflash is the killer. without the wds it cant be done.
