Default Need help for Wheel and tire options

Im currently deployed in Iraq, just bought a 5.0 95 stock.. Previous owner took good care of vehicle, got under 96,000 miles on her.. I wanna get some rims and tires for her but I don't have any experience with cars.. I would like to know my options for wheels and tires, what would best fit.. I would like to put 18's on but I also want 275width tires too. Really though, I just want to get on the right track. This is my first car ever, so any insight would be appreciated.. Im just learning the basics and don't know much.. thanx..

what branch ? ex-jarhead here, and thank you for your service

my opinion is usually geared towards drag racing.... i always have skinnies and slicks

18's are a good size for the sn95 cars, i like a lot of different ones.

look here.... i like bullit, cobra, and shelby personally

If you are going to run 18" wheels, Saleen wheels are THE choice IMHO.

run 18x9 in front and 18x10 in back with 265/35/18, and 305/30/18 tires, respectively.

I personally don't like 18" wheels on the SN, solely based on where I live. I would destroy them in a heartbeat. I prefer 17" wheels, and run 17x9's all the way around on my car with 235/45/17 (245/45/17 is recommended, but mine were free) fronts and 275/40/17 rears.

I used to have 10.5" rear wheels, on which I ran 315/35/17's.

You can also head over to AM and their selection of '94~'98 wheels for lots of choices and VERY good info on fitment and tire size recommendations.

Jazzer

PS. Thank you for your service

275 will be way to fat for the front.

255 or 245 tops.

275 outs back would be fine though, for a 9" width, you can go bigger if you get some big old tens out back.
