16" Pony rims vs. 17" Cobra rims (4 lug)
Hey guys I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death, but I was wondering if anybody had any direct experience from swapping from the 16" Pony rims to the 17" cobra rims regarding difference in traction and overall quality of the ride? What's your experience and opinions? Eventually I'm going to do the 5 lug conversion and the Billet rims, but I have much better things to do with 2,000 first, so I'm sticking with 4 lugs till I get out of school. Thanks for any help and advice!

Well as of now I have the 16" Pony wheels with Goodyear Eagle GT's on it, but I'm looking at the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's if I get the Cobra rims. I'm just wondering how big of a difference it would make.

^ I'd stick with 16's... you already have them, tires are generally cheaper vs. a 17", and so one.
BTW Goodyear > Hankook. The biggest difference you'll see in traction would be moving to a softer tire, not so much size(rubber or rim.) For daily driven cars, all seasons like the Eagle GT are hard to beat. I had a set until recently and they did great wet/dry/cold/hot.

The Eagle GT's are not bad, that's for sure. I'm just trying to get any small edge I can get to keep that rear from fishtailing. I recently lowered it 7/8 inch in the front and 1/2 inch in the back. Seems to put a little more power to the ground, minimal if any on traction control. It's my weekend driver, so I like to play with it. That and my best friend has a damn 91 Eagle Talon AWD turbo, so I have to try make my cars traction control not look totally ridiculous in comparison. It will never happen, but I have my foolish pride anyways lol. I was looking at the Cobra rims because they are a little wider, look good, and their 17's over 16's.
