Default SVT Wheels & Tires on 2008 V6?

I have a 2008 v6, wheels and tires are all stock right now. A friend is wanting to sell his 2003 SVT wheels, and is letting me try them out before I make a decision. His wheels are 275/40, 18x9. Will they fit on my car? I know the rear wheels will be wider, and even the front, but I've read on some forums where they fit, and then others said they ended up needing a steering rack stop? I called AmericanMuscle and they told me they don't suggest over a 250 on the 05-09's. I'm kinda clueless when it comes to all of this stuff, so any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you guys!

Ps, if it makes a difference? I have not lowered my car or anything either.

They will mount up for sure and don't see a problem with the rears. The fronts "may" rub, but don't see a steering rack issue limiter issue at all.

Install them and turn full lock while stationary and see how they fit. THEN.... drive slowly around the parking lot and turn full lock.... look again. So on....

After I posted this I thought well **** might as well try and find out before hearing stuff on the internet, so I did, and they work perfect. Wide, of course, which makes them throw a ton of stuff up lol, but I love them. Thanks anyway.

Good advise Jazz.
pics now John! I would imagine they stick out more than stock given the offset, and wider wheels.

I'll try to get some today. They look really good imo. Only downside is the wide wheels throw EVERYTHING up. =( Cant even wash my car without washing it again when I get home. But oh well.
