Correct lug nuts for 16" Pony Rims
New member question (I searched and couldn't find similar question).
I am putting a set of '92 or '93 five star Pony rims on a '90 LX convertible. Replacing the 15" phone dial rims. The lug nuts I have are 1/2-20. The thread size is fine, but the overall diameter of the lug nut seems to almost slip through the lug nut holes on the Pony Rims. Does anyone know the proper lug nut size so I can order some? Not sure how to explain to the local parts guys what the issue is - they don't seem to get it. The 1/2-20 fits the thread, but there is no way it's holding that rim on through any stress (turns, etc) because it just doesn't have enough width to cover the lug nut hole area. It's like it needs a washer to hold it on (no snarks, I'm not that new.)
Thanks much!
