Kickass Eleanor Mustang Looks Like it’s Straight From a Movie Set
Eleanor builds vary greatly but this stunning ’67 beauty cuts no corners as a consummate Gone in 60 Seconds tribute.
Ford’s Mustang is a star in its own right. But that inherent stardom has received a considerable boost from the iconic model’s many appearances on both the little and big screens. When you’re talking about movies, it’s hard to top Bullitt. But we’d wager that in the grand scheme of things, the Mustang fastback known as Eleanor from the flick Gone in 60 Seconds rivals even Steve McQueen‘s famous ride. Thus, it’s no surprise that countless replicas exist in the world. Including this stunning ’67 we spotted over at Vanguard Motor Sales.
Eleanor Mustang builds certainly vary greatly in terms of execution and quality. But this particular example lands near the top in terms of both. The previous owner performed a no-expenses spared, full rotisserie restoration on the original S-Code car. And the fruits of that labor (and bank account) certainly show.
Everything on the outside certainly checks out, with flawless paint and that instantly recognizable bodywork. The builder was careful to ensure every little detail from the original Eleanor was present, from the hood pins to the stripes and rolling stock. The interior is equally impressive, standing alone as a true masterpiece of craftsmanship.
As good as it looks, this Eleanor Mustang also holds some seriously impressive mechanical bits. Starting with a stroked and fuel-injected 427 cubic-inch V8 that produces a healthy 560 hp. It’s backed up by a bulletproof Tremec TKO 600 four-speed manual transmission and 9-inch rear end. Throw in a modern custom suspension and Wilwood brakes, and you’ve got a classic Mustang capable of keeping up with anything on the road today.
Overall, this Eleanor Mustang is one impressive all-rounder. And we’d be more than happy to have it in our garage!
