Do You Actually Want a GT3 Mustang?

Lately, some of the fastest track special production cars haven’t been coming from the Germans or the Italians, but from the Americans. With the introduction of the new Corvette Z06, the Camaro Z/28, and the Shelby GT350 twins, America has seemingly begun a love affair with racetracks with curves.

Recently, an article popped up on AutoEvolution speaking to this very topic, and how both Ford and Chevy have stated that, when developing these new cars, the companies used the Porsche 911 GT3 as a baseline performance scale. While we can debate the merits of doing this to death, I have a much more interesting question: how many of you actually want a Porsche beating Mustang?

It seems like a strange question coming from someone that loves speed and loves hitting the racetrack any time he can, but I’m not exactly the average consumer. I want to know if you all want a ridiculously track focused speed machine? Something in line with a 911 GT3, but with a Ford badge? Also, do you think these cars will make Porsche finally stand up and take notice of American performance cars? Sound off in the comments below.
