Brad Keselowski Nabs Win for Ford at 'The Clash'

Team Penske driver scores his first-ever win at Daytona event as the 2018 NASCAR Monster Energy Cup season nears.

Brad Keselowski, driver of the #2 Ford for Team Penske, had never won the season-opening exhibition event known as “The Clash” in his career. But the young driver checked that very box by claiming victory at Daytona International Speedway in the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series preseason opener. It also marked the very first win for Horizon Global as a sponsor in the series.

Each year, The Clash sets up fans for the coming NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series season, which promises to be as exciting as ever in 2018. The opening race of the regular season takes place on Sunday, February 18 with the legendary Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.

Keselowski competes full time on the Monster Energy circuit, but also drives the number 22 Ford Mustang for Team Penske in the NASCAR Xfinity Series on a part-time basis. His success has come in many forms of racing, however. Keselowski won both Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series championships in 2010. He’s also been named the most popular driver in the Nationwide Series three times.

Horizon Global just entered the advertising fray with Team Penske this year, promoting both its Reese and Draw-Tite brands. The sponsorship extends not only to the NASCAR series, but also to its OEM division on the IndyCar circuit.

“Starting with a win is certainly a great way to kick off our first season as a sponsor of Team Penske,” said Francis Bernart, divisional vice president of marketing, product management, and engineering at Horizon Global. “Horizon Global is proud to be a part of this winning team and looks forward to building on the relationship with Brad and the greater Penske organization.”
