Ford GT Prototype Fails to Start 700hp EcoBoost V6

Prototype cars always have a risk of not starting. Why? Because most prototypes and pre-production cars are hand-built. And given that they are hand-built, they’re extremely fragile, not to mention temperamental. Such is the problem with the new Ford GT supercar, apparently.
As you can see in the video below, a Ford GT prototype was going to be shown off at Circuito del Jarama in Madrid, Spain. The outside temperature was over 100 degrees, and as such, the new Ford GT refused to start for the onlookers. Ford’s engineering and PR people attempted to get the EcoBoost V6 to start for over 20 minutes before calling it a day.
Ford, as you can imagine, was extremely embarrassed by the entire fiasco, and promised that the production car would start in those types of temperatures.
While Ford states that the Ford GT we saw in Detroit is 95% ready, the actual production car will be revealed later next year. Hopefully by then, they’ll have the engine working better.
