M5 Versus GT500 in Loud Drag Race

While Ford has done its best to shed the drag-racing-only visage of the new Mustang, the two will be forever linked to one another. Drag racing and Mustangs go together like peanut butter and jelly, peanut butter and chocolate, or really just anything with peanut butter.
In unrelated news, now I’m hungry for peanut butter.
Now, getting back to what we were talking about before… the last generation Shelby GT500 is the epitome of drag racing potential. A 5.8L V8 churning out over 671 horsepower and 631lb-ft of torque, coupled to a live rear axle and fat tires make this Mustang the King of the Streets, especially when it comes to drag racing. Or is it?
In the video below, we have a tuned BMW M5 F10 that’s putting down over 700 horsepower versus a GT500. The Shelby, although down on power, is much lighter than the BMW, so it’s really a tossup for who wins this race. So before y’all watch it, who do you think will win? The BMW, or the GT500?
