Mach 1 Mustang Survives Multiple Tornadoes

There it was, still standing.

After being caught in as many as five twisters that hit the small town Simla, Colorado recently, this Mustang Mach 1 suffered only a few scratches. Even a local news reporter covering the vast damage seems to find the story hard to believe, as you can see in the KRDO 13 News report below.

The 1971 Mach 1 is owned by 76-year-old Jane Richardson, whose family has owned the property for five generations. In addition to the Mustang, some other structures on the property were spared by the storm, including the family home.

More importantly, Richardson came out of the storm okay.

However, among other things, the shed that housed the family’s Mach1 was completely demolished in the storm, which makes the survival of the classic Mustang even more amazing.

Art of Gears suggests that the surviving Mach 1 indicates someone bigger than us might have a special place in their heart for Mustangs, which certainly would explain this miracle.
