Who Wins? Mustang GT Lines Up Against Chevy SS
Now here’s a drag race I’m actually interested in watching. While YouTube is filled with thousands of Ford Mustang versus Chevy Camaro drag races, I’ve yet to watch Ford’s pony car go up against Chevy’s mighty sleeper — the SS. That is, until this video by The Bay Area Racing.
As you may already know, the 2015 Mustang GT is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 that produces a robust 435 horsepower. As with all Mustangs, all that horsepower is sent to the rear wheels, and when paired to a 6-speed manual, it can be quite challenging to launch on-demand. On the other lane, the Chevy SS is powered by a mighty 6.2 liter V8, which surprisingly produces a tad less horsepower than the Mustang, coming in at 415 horses.
Despite the Chevy being heavier and having less horsepower than the Ford, the owner doesn’t shy away from a little race, and goes up against the Mustang anyway.
