New 750+ HP Shelby Super Snake Should Shake Things Up

There’s just something about having a rich legacy like that of the late Carroll Shelby that just keeps enduring long after you’re gone.

That legacy causes us to pay special attention any time we get wind of anything bearing the iconic nameplate, which has birthed several legendary Mustangs over the years.

However, the newest Super Snake package added to the long line of Shelby products could be one of the hottest in decades, as highlighted in a Car and Driver report.

For starters, it features a supercharger that kicks the horsepower up to more than 750, giving the Mustang more punch than both the Hennessey and Rocket Mustangs.

The new Super Snake package, which starts with a 2015 Mustang GT coupe or convertible, also comes with a short-throw shifter, a 3.73:1 rear-axle ratio, and a suspension upgrade – all from Ford Performance. This marks the first time the Super Snake is available with an automatic and a six-speed manual.

Other features include 20-inch Weld Racing wheels fitted with Michelin rubber, Wilwood six-piston front brakes, and a Borla exhaust (by Ford Racing) with Shelby tips.

Unique exterior design cues include a special carbon fiber hood and front splitter, rocker-panel extensions, a rear diffuser and spoiler, and a few other touches we’ve come to expect from Shelby.
