Two 2015 Roush Mustangs Drag From a Rolling Start

The Ford Mustang has now been under the Roush aftermarket knife for two solid decades. Today’s Stage 3 model, a $22,590 upgrade, takes the Mustang’s 5.0-liter Coyote V8 and adds a 2.3L TVS supercharger to produce 670 horsepower. The Stage 3 also gets a stainless steel quad-tip exhaust, an “R7” body kit, and an adjustable coilover suspension.

So the thing must go fast, in addition to looking fantastic, right? Well, yeah, it should, but this video is kind of strange.

The four-minute video below shows a pair of Roushes taking on other Mustangs, a Camaro, a Subaru WRX, and a Ford Focus ST, all at Charles Thunder Valley in Oklahoma City. The first clip is from a stand-still and the Roush only clocks in at 106.71 mph, and loses 12.43 to 13.67. The second is done from a rolling start, and the Roush beats a Camaro 9.83 to 11.22 at 119.01 mph. The rest of the clips are rolling starts, as well, and ermm, they’re definitely not the most impressive performances. See for yourself below.
