Barrett-Jackson Mustang

NFL wide receiver Reggie Wayne’s 1967 GT Fastback is but one of the classics set to cross the Barrett-Jackson block.

There’s never a shortage of hot Mustangs crossing the block at a Barrett-Jackson auction. And the upcoming April event, being held in Palm Beach, Florida, is no exception.

In fact, this year’s annual event includes two dream collectibles: a 1969 Mustang Boss 429 and a 1967 Mustang GT Fastback owned by NFL wide receiver Reggie Wayne.

According to the official Barret-Jackson site, the ’69 Boss, also known as KK #1717, is one of 271 cars painted in Wimbledon White. Furthermore, it’s also equipped with all the things that’s keep the car right at the top of the list of coveted classic Mustangs.

Some of the Boss’s performance features include a Traction-Lok differential, 4-speed close-ratio transmission, and power front disc brakes. It also features a deluxe interior, a functional front spoiler, and complete suspension. The car’s engine was totally rebuilt in 2016 by a team that specializes in Boss Mustangs. So you can pretty much assume it’s practically flawless.

Of course, the Mustang GT owned by Wayne is quite the gem, as well. The custom, black with red stripes fastback is equipped with a 545-ci V8 electronic fuel-injected engine and mated to a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission.

The appeal of the Mustang’s custom exterior has been carried over inside, as well. There are a number of custom features, including bucket seats done in a fine leather and detailed with polished buttons. Even the door panels on Wayne’s Mustang feature unique custom elements, like special metal accents.

Sound interesting? Well, you might want to plan on carving out some time the weekend of April 6 – 8, when these two beauties are scheduled to cross the block.
