Walk around mod vid-----
Folks,
Finished painting my stock calipers black and took a few snap shots to show here. I used the ford logo found on the back calipers as my "logo' for the rear ones and painted around it as shown. I used extra fine brushes to take care of this one. The front calipers do not have a ford logo, so I'll still try to figure something out (decal). Anyway, here they are...

Very nice. You should take another pic outside so we can see brighter. Got my tracking info from fedex but no paint yet. Hope to knock it out as soon as the paint get here. Nice job, its those little touches that haelp signature your car and stand it out against the next one at the light.
Tpony---I just remembered I still have the paint in the garage, since it says to paint them all at the same time what is the best way to do this? Do you think it can be done two at a time? The paint says it will go bad in four hours and to wait 15 minutes between coats and before putting the wheel back on. Also says not to drive for 24 hours. Dont have any stands so not sure if I can do a wheel at a time. Seems like I could still make the 4 hour deadline without any trouble even with two coats.
What do you think?

Where in Northern Virginia are you located? I live in North Springfield off of Braddock Road.

I used the Dupli-Color Caliper paint and did all 4 calipers in about 2 hours. I did it one at a time. I did not have jack stands, so it was a matter of taking each wheel off, one at a time of course. Before you start, the first thing you need to do is shake the hell out of the paint can. Shake it well, shake it good. From time to time, and during your paint project, put the lid back on the can and shake it again. This ensure the paint was always good to go. For whatever reason, I did the rear calipers first. No biggie, other than you will learn real quick that the calipers have more doggone small spots that would need your attention. Not so much with the front calipers. Dont worry if you get some paint on the break pads. If you do, let it dry and then scratch it out with something plastic or hard rubber. I did not wait 15 minutes between coats. I took my time, so by the time I was done with one side of the caliper, the other was dryed, so I gave it a second coat, almost instantly. BTW, it was my experience that once the paint was on the caliper it dried up fast and no, the caliper was not even warm. I placed the wheels on once I was done with the caliper. I thought..what the hell?...the wheels are not touching the caliper anyway, so what's the deal. I will tell you that once I was all done, I did not move the car for about 24 hrs, no questions about that one.
One last word, make sure the area is well ventilated. Dupli-colr fumes will get you high if you are not careful....here a post of the caliper and the pony logo.
Mdg, I am in Alexandria close to the Mount Vernon Estates and Garden..I think I seen you Stang around...

Thanks for the info. I just came back from buying jack stands but after reading your post I think I'm gonna do one wheel at a time and get my cask back for the stands, I have not opened them yet. I am gonna get started in like 10 minutes but I gotta post this quick pic that I snagged today with my cell. It will go in the "hottest mustang in Chicago thread" One of a kind....Or not!
A , thanks for your quick reply dude. If you ever head towards Deleware let me know because you will pass by me on the way. I am close to the Deleware line in MD.

No problem. Glad I could help you just like other have helped me with my small projects. No much into racing or performance, but lots into appearance and taking care of the Stang over all. Thanks for the invite. There is a Stang show close to Richmond, VA this weekend. Too far for you probably. I plan on attending and take a look a some cool rides to get idea. Good luck with the paint job...[sm=smiley20.gif]
