Hi all,

Im putting a decal on the rear of my 05 gt...does anyoned know how to remove the silver fake gas cap on the rear trunk...it has to come off before i can put the decal on.

please bare in mind, dumb dumb instructions appreciated!

p.s what do I use to to put it back on!!!!!..what kind og glue/tape and where do i get it.

 

Use the search tool and type in "fake gas cap" ensure your setting on the search tool are for 300 and within 1 yr. I just did andgot all kinds of hits..good luck.

 

You can use fishing line & slowly 'cut' the adhesive off holding the cap on, work the fishing line back & forth & saw the adhesive pad off. It has 2 small pins to align it though,you'll have to work the fishing line around them. If you're putting on a vinyl panel, you'll not need to remove the cap unless it doesn't have a cutout for it. I left mine on to put on the blackout panel.I just worked the panel around the cap.
