Default Antenna?

Bare with me Im a girl who is trying to learn about cars but still knows next to nothing. I just bought a chrome 8" antenna to replace the stock one on my '07. Can I replace this myself or am I going to have to take it somewhere to get changed out. If it is possible to do it myself can someone explain to me how. I really just dont want to **** it up. I can't for the life of me find anything specifically about installing a new antenna in any other threads so I apologize if this is a repeat ? Thanks

i beleave you can just unscrew it with a pliers and a rag (to keep from scratching it.

Yes pliers will work or a small wrench will work. Then depending on the new antenna and how many stubs that came with it, there should be one that fits in the old hole and screws into the antenna. My new black short antenna came with three stubs and it took a minute to get the right one.

or try a 11/32 open end wrench and a piece of paper, paper keeps it from scratching as well................either way it will work!

Sounds ghetto but i used a hack saw ... chopped it put some paint on the end and made it about 10 inches tall ... funny thing is the stations come in just as well as they did when it was uncustomized.
