Default Seamless side scoops

Got another question for anyone with aftermarket side scoops, especially if you have a Cervinis kit. Is it possible to install the side scoops to be seamless, in other words it looks like a part of the car not like it was stuck on there?

The people at Blow-By Racing did it with at least one of their cars. If you look at the pictures closely, the ones in the For Sale area are molded into the body (the spoiler too). The other ones though like the customer rides are not done that way.

I'm not sure how hard it would be, but being that you would have to bond fiberglass to metal and then paint it...it might crack at the seams. But I am no expert. I would ask a custom body shop if I were you.

Well let me start with you don't need to have it done, its more of a looks thing. That said I am having my side scoops, wing and rear lip on my Cervini's kit moldded to the car. I do not recommend ever doing it with the window scoops/louvers, front bumper or side skirts. The process is not hard just time consuming.

Also mke sure you get a experienced shop, look for one in your area that dose alot of show cars. I say that because they will have spent more time molding parts and will have more experience in it. I have seen some shops that callthemselves professionals and work people say was done by professionals and all they did was use body filler. You want a shop that will use a nice sealer to hold the panel to the car then fiberglass the major part of it and only use bodyfiller to fill small pits and smooth it all out. Body filler by itself will just crack if used in large globs.

My car dose not go back in untill late this month early next month, so once it is done I will share pics.

Thanks for the tips! I love to see some pics when you get your car back mattblasi, sounds like it's gonna look great! The only parts that I am interested in having installed seamlessly are the side scoops and the ducktail, like you said.

I just installed my lower Cervinis scoops. I used the tape, and they look fine. If you have the seems filled, you are adding bondo to your car, and if you want to swap them for a different style down the road, forget it! Also, those scoops have no vent hole covers and most likely flex when trapping air, I would hate to see your bondo crack from this! You can check out my scoops at: http://garrysgarage.spaces.live.com/ the upper scoops turned out to dark, but I installed them anyway until I have time to re-shoot them.
