Bart,
I've got a 06 & the Shaker really doesn't add much if anything on the performance end. Mainly a cosmetic mod.It does look great on these newer Mustangs. There MIGHT be a minor improvement on milage, but the difference is nothing you'ld really notice.I haven't made any long trips since I installed mine yet, so not positive on the mileage issue.
I've modified mine to work with my CAI & at least 1 other owner has modified to work with a supercharger, so that can be done.

Thanks for the info, I was really hoping that the shaker would help performance at least a little bit. So I see that you (aircare84) and others modified it to fit with a CAI; I am I correct in assuming that the gain in performance is going to come more from using a cold air kit than with the shaker? How well does the shaker work with the cold air kit?

If you want a performance gain , the CAI + tune is your best bang-for-buck mod you can do with these newer Mustangs. The tune really improves throttle response & gives you a nice HP gain. The CAI realisticly only comes into play on the higher RPM ranges IMO.I've got the JLT2 & Brenspeeds 93 octane tune & it makes a noticable difference.
The Shaker just looks great. And you can route the air intake from the Shaker into just about all of the CAI kits out there I'm sure. Not much different than running it into the stock airbox.Easy to do.
If yours is stock so far, I'd highly recomend a CAI + tune first. Now if you're gonna supercharge, then go that route, but you will still need a tune for the supercharger anyway.

aircare84, Here are the pics of the prototype airgate install. Tomorrow the cable drive goes in and hopefully the weather is clear for some testing.

Is that the stock airbox you're installing onto? Haven't had my stock airbox on for a while now, so forgive my ignorance.
You consider a CAI & tune on yours yet?
Nice workmanship by the way.

Yes, that is the stock airbox. I am just playing around with it until I cave in to the CAI and tune options. I like to stay stock until I know the car is a keeper. Haven't had it out much in winter so it is like a new toy still. I would like to log the air intake temps and flow rateswith the stock airbox open and closed and then probably with a CAI and then try modding the CAI intake as well. (We both know I'll get the CAI eventually, lol). Now if I could break away from this and get my RC planes ready for spring............

Into R/C myself, primarly helis, but I have a GWS Tiger Moth also.
You seriously should look into a CAI + tune. Best bang-for-buck performance mod for these Mustangs.
