I took my Alloy GT into the dealership yesterday to get it striped. I deided to go vinyl because of the cost difference. I figured the vinyl would only be about 250 but after sitting arond waiting for an hour while they did an estimate they said they wanted 500!!! Now I think thats wayy too high but I have no expierience in this area...that is where my problem arises...does this price sound about right??? Anybody know a cheaper way??? and if vinyl is 500 how much more could it be to just be painted???

 

the local dealer by me wants 850 to do it. I honestly dont know how much they all cost. But the dealer by me gurantees them for 5 year from peeling/bubbling (sp?)

 

Painting would probably anywhere between 1k and 2k, dont know how much vinyl stripes usually cost but 500 seems kinda steep

 

Damn thats cheap!!! the local guy I went to only wanted 520 and I almost flipped out, couldn't believe how cheap he was. But 500 from a dealer, that is dirt cheap. I have been looking into stripes for a couple of years, there have been times I saw dealers charging upwards of 800.00. So if you got quoted 500 take it. The stripes alone ordered off line can be close to 250.00. So another 250.00 for that kind of labor is dirt cheap

 

Hell no!!! Try to find a sign and graphics shop,not all will do the install but you might get lucky.
BTW I bought mine from a sign shop $80 and installed myself.Just try to find a well established shop
and you'll get good quality vinyl.

 

WOW, I guess I did really really good. My body shop man charged me 800 to do my stripes, and that included the ones on the sides of the car too. Mine are painted and under the clear coat........I guess sometimes being female does pay off.[sm=drlove.gif]

My installer mocked up the stripes on his computer, cut and installed my wide-*** hood stripes for $150.
Considering your shop doesn't have a roof to stripe, there's not much more to stripe than my car.
$500 seems very steep.

 

That's fricken insane. By a kit, find a garage, buy a friend a 12-pack, 4 hours later, you got stripes.

 

mine had stripes at the dealer, it was a 800.00 option... The salesman forgot to put it on my ticket and by the time the sales manager saw it I had the papers signed, and he was like you better bring me some more business because you just got free stripes....so mine were free..kinda
