Default Shakers..

Calling all you shaker hood guys! I'm picking up my new grabber orange 08 come this janurary (when my deployment is over) and i've been looking over all the mods for the new GT's. I have about 1k to spend on my first mod and i was thinking the shaker hood. I think it really sets our cars off. How have you guys liked this hood so far? After the shaker i was planning on the JLT CAI + tune to follow but this would do for now. Or so I go another route with the modding? Any advice is awesome.

Go with the CAI and Tune first. Shaker is only an appearance mod and should only be done with extra money... But don't expect any HP gains with the Shaker... If mine wasn't free from a contest, I wouldn't have it.

Oh yea, i realized that I wouldn't gain any HP from this. I just though it was half-way unique for our newer model mustangs. Thanks for the info

I've got the Shaker scoop & a JLT2 CAI on mine, both very worthwhile mods IMO.The Shaker will look great on a GO. The CAI + tune is your best bang for buck mod on the newer Mustang. The Shaker adds much to the visual.
I ended up trimming the shroud on my Shaker after a while because I didn't like all the plastic + I'm sure it retains heat. These motors run hot as is. Before & after I cut down the shroud & overall of the car.

I wouldnt have the shaker if the used car didnt come with it, would MUCH rather get a CAI and tune for the money. But it looks cool and when i rev the engine it shakes back and forth with the torque, very cool

If you are considering the shaker make sure you get a stang without the fake hoodscoop (GT appearance package). A shaker won't cover the holes from the fake hoodscoop. Then you have to get the holes filled or get a new hood just to cut it, more $$.
