I scrape sometimes going into the driveway.
The strip gets scratched buy my front bumper
cover does not. Kinda saves the bottom of
the bumper and is replaceable keeping the
bottom of the bumper in showroom condition.

OEM chin spoiler? Not sure of the exact part name. I'd have to say it protects your bumber from getting scraped. But it has failed to do so significantly, for me at least. I accidentally hit a duck (old country road, walked right out while I was going 50mph), tire shred flew up under the car infront of me and hit underneathe too. Both events have left their mark on the bumber still. No worries though...will be replacing soon anyways

Roger, I too like several of the guys above trashed this little exotic extra when I pulled the car in too far over a high curb. I just took the damn thing off and actually like the looks of the lower facia without it. It's up to you, but I suspect if you want a brand new it's gonna be a dealer item only. So expect to pay way too much for a piece of nothing. Better yet, get yourself one of the new really cool chin spoilers. Take care, Jack.

RE: Plastic black strip on bottom of front bumper
got mine replaced once, it was quoted to be about $70, or so but ended up at I think around $30. It's starting to very slowly (over the course of months) droop again. If it gets as low as it did last time, it's just coming off once and for all, the whole thing's a bit ridiculous.
