Fishing line works well. The tape is actually not too hard to get off, but the emblem is held in by two prongs too. Once you get it loose it will come off and most of the tape will be left on the trunk. It's a little thicker and easier to get off than the tape that holds the spoiler on.

The way I do this is the quick and efficient way.
I use masking tape (2 inch wide) around the badge so I don't scratch the paint.
With a putty knife, I get the double sided tape loose by sliding the tool all around it.
Make sure to apply pressure on the badge side, stay away from thetrunk panel itself if you're not gonna use a replacement.
I remove the residual tape with a rubber wheel matted to a drill.
Works perfectly.

badge on? I worked at a book store and we used to use lighter fluid to remove the sticky
shiets on there, some were pretty tough but a little fluid on a wash clothe removed it really
easy with a tiny bit of effort.

Fishing line works great. I took mine off in 5 minutes without heating up anything. I have racing stripes and did not want to loosen them. Wrap the fishing line around something to use as a handle. I used two 1/2" dowel rods about 5" long. Pull the line between the badge and the body. Use a back and forth motion sorta sawing from the outside edge up to the alignment pins in the badge. Work your way around the entire badge, then just gently pull it off. The tape used is much thicker than what is used for other badges and easily comes off by rubbing with your fingers. Lighter fluid would probably work. I had some decal remover I got from a sign shop for removing the flames off my Ranger (daily drive). It is an easy job, no worries mate. P.S. the black background around the GT can be removed by applying then pulling off sticky tape which leaves behind a chrome badge that looks pretty good as well.

Fishing line works good too but I'm quicker with the putty knife.
Try both and get a feel for it.
