Painted my calipers - lots of pics

Painted my calipers - lots of pics
It took several hours, first to clean them up well, and then waiting between coats for the paint to dry. I used the G2 system - it is very thin and goes on in several coats using a small paint brush. It sets up in a couple of hours so you you have to do all four wheels at the same time.
I'm sure my neighbors liked seeing this for most of the day:
It took me a couple of hours just to get the calipers clean. A lot of brake cleaner, parts brush, and finally some wire brushing. The fronts were easier to get clean than the back calipers even though the brackets were already painted red (when I upgraded to the GT brakes last weekend the set up I bought had already been painted red)

Second set of pics - I'm not sure why that first one is showing up blurry - it looks fine when I open it from the folder.
Once the calipers were clean, it was time to start painting. I knew that these old business cards would come in handy one day:
The G2 instructions say to start with a very thin coat and let it dry for 15 minutes before doing more coats.
I thought I had another picture showing the full job, but can't find where it saved right now.

Thanks, I appreciate your comments. The G2 paint is pretty good stuff - since I wanted white that seemed to be the only choice because the Duplicolor doesn't offer white. Had to order it online because it wasn't in the local parts store.

I too used the G2 paint. After mixing the activator, the paint started thin but by the time I was putting the third coat on the last two calipers, the paint was getting a bit thick.
The instructions say to wait 15 minutes between coats. This is not a problem as by the time you finish painting the next three calipers, it has been more than 15 minutes!
The white calipers look great on your car, nice contrast.

I've been looking for a black decal but the only site I know of is xenonmods and I haven't heard back from him on my request. He used to be able to sell the "running pony" decal but can't now, but on his site you can make a request for a custom decal and I have one in mind but until he responds they stay all white I guess.
