I have some room to move them and tilt them just a bit, so I am going to play around with it and see what looks best. Thay are mirrors off ebay and they make them for a bunch of cars ...honda ,chargers, evos and so on just not the mustang.

I looked again at the last picture and you have like half an inch to move the mirror down.
It would make the top flush with the triangular base, thus, away from the post molding.
When you do custom work, them little things are the head scratch usually.
More power to you for trying new stuff Mr. Darrell.

it does look like that but the back of the mirror is wider, so the back is at the door. I can however move it down if I move them back a little toward the back of the car, but I have the finish my base plates first. the thing I am mounting them to is the base off of a mirror I bought from Tombstang, Thanks bro... I cut the mirror off the base which left a hole there but I am going to fiberglass over it and paint the base to match the color of my car and then mount this mirror on it.

personally I like the fat stock mirrors on your car! To me the stock mirrors tie the hood into the bodylines...... JMO

None of us have the stock boring hood though...
It's worth a try IMO.
I've done a bunches of ugly tries before landing on the real thing that made me happy.
Of course, I was born happy so that helps lol.
