Default S197 Hood Pins?

I have a set that should be here this week. Now my question is I have seen some pics where people put them what looks like to me to far to the center and it just doesn't look right IMO. I have a stock hood but I'm will be putting my Shelby front fascia in the next month.

Does anyone have any write ups on the hood pins and pics of your cars would be great if you have them. Even more so if you have the Shelby fasica with stock hood with pins in redfire... lol

Does the hood pins get rid of the hood floating?

Default Hood Pins

There is a Thread w/ some info on it. Go to 4.6L V8 Specific General Discussion and in the "search this Thread" type in hood pins. There might be an easier way to get there but Im am still trying to figure everthing out @ MF.....LOL I hope this helps and by the way that is probable going to be my next mod and I havent figured out which ones to buy yet.I want them to look right so I have been looking @ pics .Some ppl use the holes for the hood bumper stops and I see there is some that come w/ a brkt but you have to modify the radiator support cover,so Im still researching. Can only drill so many holes in the hood :~)

He posted this thread in both the appearance and general section. pretty sure the one you're referring to is his, which he has replied in quite a bit.

here's mine.

I used the hole that's already in the radiator support. from underneath I had to cut away (with a dremel) enough metal to fit both the nut and a socket. from the top I took a large drill bit and made the hole large enough for the hood pin to move up & down (for adjustment)

in stead of making a new thread, ill ask here...
Where can i find the hood pics that dont have pins, they just lock in or something? They look really clean, but i have no idea what they are called or who makes them, its like a locking mechanism instead of the pin and wire.
i think the ones i saw were black and chrome if that helps
