You can do this the way I did it to my replica wheels. I had vinyl decals made with the horse on it. The vinyl has been on there 2 years now. Design it any way you want. My cap does have a slight dome shape to it, but the vinyl still went down flat with no bubbles under the vinyl.

I am wondering where you got the decals also. I have AFS wheels, the center cap is about 1.625 diameter which is a little bigger than the standard Ford size (caps say "525/535 cap"). I also would like the pony with the tribar.

Find your local vinyl guy or gal and have them make them up. All you need is the outer diameter of the cap. Then pick out the colors and design and go from there. The vinyl person should have a bunch of Ford designs in there computer system all ready. And it will be cheap too. I think my vinyl person made 10 for $10. That way if a damage one, i'll have a few spares.

the black pony caps from the new edge style bullet wheels will fit just fine. they can be found a dime a dozen on ebay.
