Does anyone know if it's possible to just swap the center section of the steering wheel out? I like the cobra logo on that one but don't want to change the entire steering wheel.

 

The center is the airbag with a sticker in the middle, so it is possible. Just have to trade stickers.

 

I'm wanting to do this change on my base '11 GT. It is the one thing I don't like about my car. My questions is; my current wheel has the blue lights for the cruise buttons and I would like to carry that over to the new wheel, so would I have to switch the buttons over to? Is it even possible to switch them? Or is it a different colored led behind the buttons making the blue color instead of the green like I had in my '07?

 

The 2010 wheel center cap is not a sticker but a metal piece with prongs bent inside the airbag cover. I would say near impossible to remove and save. I removed mine because I don't like anything silver in front of me in the car.

To put a 2005/2009 wheel in a 2010 just swap the wiring harness from the 2010 to the older wheel and the older wheels buttons work the cruse control.

 

Does this disassembly give you easy access to the tabs that hold the center cap (logo) in place? This might make it easier to push the center cap out from behind than to try prying it off from the front side, which is what it seems like everyone has done in any thread I've read on it.

discodave, the center logo comes off, from what I've read in other threads, on 2005-2009 stangs, but not 2010.

Anyone have luck finding replacement center caps? (not stickers)

 

I just order my SVT wheel and shift boot combo from Moss Muscle for only $340. They were having a sale!

So I am assuming if I just disconnect the battery.....all is good with the air bag?? Is there a real need to disconnect the fuse as well?

Does anyone have the SVT shift boot? If so, what is the finish and quality like compared to the stock one?

I'm looking for 2010-2011 premium steering wheel. Basically, I have a base model and the entire steering wheel is made of rubber and really cheap. I want 1 with leather wrapped..
