Default Rims for base V6?

I really don't have much knowledge about car mechanics and such...

However, I have a base V6...

If I wanted to replace the stock rims with something the right size, and not too expensive... What would be the avg price for 4 rims of that size... Not that expensive (I know the sky is the limit)

It all depends on the brand. I've found some to be fairly cheap (cheaply made also) and some that can be expensive.

Anywhere from $400-$1000+. I've heard good things about American Muscle's wheels, and they have good prices. Also, the classified section comes up with wheels and tires for sale quite often. Check there to get a good deal.

Depends on what you want. You can sometimes get some gt-takeoffs that are nice at a decent price. Both V6's and GTs use the same wheel sizes; although most V6s come with 16" wheels, you can put 17s, 18s, or 20s on. GT stockers are typically 17s unless you get one with 18s.

Depends what you want and for how much you want to spend.

Check out American Muscle, OE Wheels, and/or take-offs.

ok. I looked a little - I guess I can find something for maybe $125 each. I just am not sure about the size. I have 16" tires, and I want to keep that size. I don't want to go to the larger size that the GT comes with.

You could get a set of 17" Bullitt take-offs for about $500.00 w/tires. Run your 16's in the winter.

Why!?!? Those tires are directly responsible for your model of cars being in the top 15 worst handling cars in America out of about 200 (that's an accurate figure). While with normal wheels and $150 of sway bars it handles better or as good as most BMW's.

Either way these are your best bet:

Tires that don't cost more than your current ones, but are some of the best out there:

I looked at some from Discount Tire - where I get my tires from usually. I can get 4 for not too much. But, by the time I get the lugs that go with it and the install, it would be a little over $600.

I haven't driven my car in the rain yet - so I will see how it handles when I do.

I have 16" Yokohama YK520 tires that I love. I am on my 3rd set - and I will buy no other tire. They make them for the 16" mustang wheels I have too. So, those will be my replacement tires.

IF I buy new rims, I will likely do it at the time of a new tires purchase.

Even though we do not carry 16" for mustang, we have 17" and 18" wheel and tire packages. Mr Ugly is one of our customers and the riveted cobra r's really look great on his vehicle. For a forum member, we can probably get you into a package for 999.99 shipped to your door step.
