OK, so I'm pretty much a retard when it comes to wheels and tires so I come to you guys for help.

I just got a sweet deal on some new wheels/tires but the tires are a little ragged so I'm gonna buy new ones.

The wheels are 18x8 and I need to know what size tires everyone recommends. How wide can I even go? I have no idea what offset or staggered means so simplify things if you could

I told you I'm a retard yes the wheels are 18 x 8, I need to know how wide of a tire I can put on it and whether the tires should be the same size all around.

235/50/18s biggest u should go IMHO

 

Oh really? Sucky, it already has 245/45/18's on it so I assumed I could go at least that wide. I kinda like the meaty rear tires, does anyone have pics of that type of setup?

 

I am not sure how little you paid for the wheels and tires, but you didn't get a good deal in my opinion.

8 inches!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don't drive a hybrid.

I would take them back, with anything bigger than the 235 the side walls are not going to be very supportive. 235 is what comes stock on the GT and those are even pretty skinny.

 

8" is not wide enough. Stock GT wheels are 8 inches, if you're going to replace them why not go wider?

Also, 245 is no where near meaty.

 

Well in my opinion free is a very good deal I know I can go at least 245 I just didn't know if I could go wider. The stockers I have now are 275s

 

Sorry, when I said meaty I meant the thickness of the rear tires not the width.

 

the 17s are 8 the 18s are 8.5
