Default Console Question

Hey everyone. Today, I got my long awaited 2006 Mustang, and boy, do I love it. However, in between the two vents above the radio, I noticed this plastic black circle that is firmly attached to the dashboard. It doesn't seem to hold any purpose, and I can't figure out what it is or what I can do with it for the life of me. I posted a picture below, can anyone tell what it is? Or does anyone also have it? Can I do anything with it?

+1 That's exactly what it looks like. It should just be stuck on.

Oh, that's one of the things I had suspected. Sounds about right. Is there any specific way I should/can take it off? I don't think I'll be getting a GPS System.

goo gone should work, or maybe a hair dryer to loosen up the adhesive.

Okay I'll definitely try some Goo Gone today! That can't damage the silver paint there though, right?

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

No guarantees about not damaging the cheap aluminum finish. I'd first try pulling it off best you can and see what you have underneath. But the Goo Gone is probably your best bet.
