Question License plate frames

I'm looking for a decent set of license plate frames...the local auto parts stores all have cheap plastic crap! Anyone know of a good online auto accessory store that sells them?

I want something with spikes or pyramid studs and can't find them anywhere!

You might try checking a Hot Rod supply shop. They usually have satin or polished stainless license plate frames. Also sell some custom type license frames you are describing.

Yep. They'll match the pyramid studs hanging around my mirror. I'm a bit of a rocker type, lol!

Illegal, (where i'm from). Check your local laws to make sure before you run out and buy one. Apparently here in SC (I believe a few others as well), you can't have your expiration month and year covered. I watched this video of people with dealer license plate frames getting pulled by Myrtle Beach (SC) cops like mad. Cop even said "i'm not sparing out of state people either". So even if you travel i would make sure those things arn't covered.

Cause they will just look for something, as stupid as that to pull you over on.

One of the hard reasons i have not purchased one is that I can't tell how high up they cover until i see it on a actual tag.

In the state of New Jersey, "legally" you can't have these frames on the license plate IF they obstruct the words New Jersey (at the top ) and Garden State (At the bottom) and obviously nothing obstructing the actual plate. Yet dealers install them on cars brand new and its still illegal, go figure...
