Default Emblems For 09 Mustang GT

I have an 09 Mustang GT with the 45th anniversary emblems. I'd like to replace them with the cobra emblems off a gt500.

Does the emblem have allignment pins?

If so are they in the same place as cobra emblem?

What is the easiest way to get the emblems off without damaging the paint?

What should I use for installation of the cobra emblems?

The pins should all be the same... As for removal... get yourself some fishing line and some goo gone. Use the line to separate the emblem from the car and the goo gone to remove the remaining tape from the side of the car.

Is there anyway we can talk you out of putting Cobra on the car that isn't one?

Use a hair dryer to heat the emblem...this will soften the double sided tape that holds the emblem, and you should be able to pry it off with your fingers. I replaced the fender emblems on my '09 GT with V8 emblems that came with double sided tape already installed.

Please don't put cobra emblems on a GT, unless you can match the power.

Heat it with the hair dryer, just be careful not to get the paint too hot...

Then use the fishing line and run it back and forth behind the emblem, will cut it right off...

I don't recommend prying them off, you're risking cracking the paint...

+1. As much as I would love to do the same on my 03 gt, (the cobra emblems look sweet) I cannot bring myself to misrepresent what I drive, not to mention I cant give any fuel to the ricers if by chance I actually lost to one, they would be bragging up and down about how they beat a "cobra". Just dont do it.

To those that offered some usefull information thank you!

As far as putting Cobra emblems on a GT I will do as I please. Please don't hijack an informative thread to voice your opinions on whether I should or should not because I did not ask for them.

Go Cobras, those 45th Anny badges are lame as hell IMO
