How does the Roush Spoiler mount. I like the look of it but it says something about tape in the ad I saw and that scares me. Phat paint btw!

3M tape? from what I've seen almost everything added to a car's exterior requires some type of tape. Seems like it's used mainly to keep water out. Items that are only held on with 3m tape scare me. IE. hood scoops, side scoops.

I think you have to drill like 4 more holes in the car for the Roush.

From what I've read the Roush mounts with the tape or you can drill the extra holes to secure it better. I love the Roush, but I don't trust just the tape and the holes in the rear quarters is not for me either. It would be a bitch if you ever wanted to change it.

You reuse the factory holes for the center piece.
Do yourself a favor... DO NOT drill holes in your quarter panels for the sides pieces!!!!!!
If you decide to change for something else later, you're screwed.

Those side pieces come with a built in stud at the pointy end.
Cut those stupid things with a cut off wheel.
3M tape is more than enough for such light extensions.

I know your other parts are taped on, too. And I'm sure they are fine due to the surface area of tape vs. the size and shape of the part ie. scoups. And as far as your Ducktail I think there is more than enough surface area on that style spoiler to have enough tape to hold it on properly.

However, the Roush's corner pieces are pretty big but yet from the pix they don't look like they have enough contact area to make me feel secure with the tape alone. Looks to me like the Roush is sticking up pretty far and down the sides pretty far for the small contact area it has. Structurally speaking it just looks like it could get ripped of very easily by wind, hoodlums, or brushing against it accidently in a drunken stupor.

Those corner pieces are super light and Roush uses 3M tape all around them as well, with 3 bolts on the top and that one stud at the side.
It's like trying to kill a fly with a 12 gauge shotgun!!
Yeah, it will get the job done, lol.

FYI, I have done a bunch of those Roush spoilers with 3M tape only for those corner pieces, including for a couple of members here.
No one has lost parts yet.

As far as being ripped off easily, think again...
You can sit on them. I weights 170lbs BTW.

The trick with 3M tape, is that you have to be **** about cleaning the surface area real good and free of contaminents. Keep you dirty paws away from the part and the body after you applied the alcohol solution.
When installed right, it's in there for good.

You could always ask mygt500 to give you a hand...

I was scared to death putting my side scoops and ducktail on the car using the 3M double sided tape, so I cleaned the area thoroughly, put the car in the paint booth, baked the car at 120F for 10 minutes to get the metal nice and hot, and applied the parts. I drove the car home about 30 minutes later with no issues, and the parts even survived a couple 120mph runs the next day after the PA Mustang Cruise, so you should have nothing to worry about.

BTW - Here's a pic of my Cervini's ducktail finally installed and painted.

If I can find a picture...
