I have not once been flashed or anything from my hids not having "coatings". And I too have heard of your coating "peeling off"!! How do you determine if it was "scratched" off?

You have an 05, capping only applies to some 06 and all 07+ halogen lamps.
Your lamps have bulb caps built into them and require a bulb type that is already coated/masked.

So, it doesn't apply to you as you have the factory HID lamps, not the halogen lamps.
In the halogen lamps, 06+ without bulb covers capping is a requirement plain an simple, and we are the only manufacture offering such an option to those needing it.

By rubbing on the receptacle going in or coming out of the housings. However, the coating has been replaced with a capping service now, so that it can not be scratched off, costs less, and takes less time to add to an order.

Quick question now guys,
ok so my headlights are 6000k with a 35w ballast.
For my foglights, should i do the same 6000k but with a 55w ballast to make it just a tad bit brighter? what do you guys think?

thanks!!

I went with 55W all around with 4300k bulbs, from retrosolutions of course.

The problem with the fogs is that the reflector sucks, that's why I got rid of mine and replaced them with a PIAA kit and put the HID in those .

Getting the bulbs in those fogs was a nightmare though, good thing I didn't break anything.

Fogs are meant to be a wide foreground pattern, not for distance, so 35w would suffice and keep everything the same as the other set, but you can use either there.

Then they are blinding people since there is nothing to stop light emitting through the top of the bulbs. Its simple physics really, at night pupils will constrict and due to the contrast it will limit other drivers visibility.
