Im concerned about my driver side floor pan..
okay heres the deal....
about a week ago, i got in my car, drove to walmart, bought some stuff, got back in the car, and drove home....
well when i got home, i backed into my garage like i always do, turned the car off and opened my drivers side door....
well, just like everyone else does, i moved my left leg out of the car and placed my foot on the garage floor...i then used right foot to push off of the floor pan just below the brake pedal to rotate my body so i can get out of the car...
well when i rotated my body, i heard a popping noise...the noise was liek if u picked up a piece of sheet metal that has been bent and it has that apex-like line through the middle of it...u can bend that apex point in both directions and it will pop in and out.....
well it sounded like that and then i felt that spot with my hand and theres like a dip in the floor pan where that noise was....
i havent pulled the carpet up or anything yet, just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this....
sry for the life's story lol

Hmmmm.
The 'floor pan' is part of the structurial integrity of the uni-body.
Seems it is flexing or popping a little too much for it to be of any
good structurally. You been tweeking the body in any way (hint hint).
As in where do you jack it when you jack it up for front drivers side
tire removal. Maybe we can learn from your jacking mistakes?????
Maybe put one and two together since there is enough of you that
have the popping problem the data can be compiled and compared?

Nothing to worry about...
The rails and the rockers make most of the lower integrity on the car.
There is also a brace by the transmission tunnel for extra strength.
The floor pan itself is sheet metal, made of the same gauge as of the outside body panels.
A simple road hazard, like a small rock could put a dimple that will pop from your weight pressure.
Also, a jack slip will make a serious dent under there and stretch the metal badly, so be careful, or you will have something to pop about, lol.
