What is different between the 05 AC ***** and the 07+ ones?

I don't get it. Every time I stumble upon aftermarket AC ***** that I like, they only fit 05/06 stangs

Has anyone altered 05 ones to fit?

 

From what I understand the control shafts that the ***** fit on were changed, thus they're not interchangeable. Here's the one's I'm thinking about getting for my '09

this site also give installation instructions and it appears on the newer models you have to break the old control ***** off. Look around this site, I think they explain it all there. Good luck....
