Default seat delete thread..

I'm trying to find some photos of seat delete's with a sub or two. Google isn't very good at finding me much and neither is the search thread here.
So if you guys have any photos post em' please.

Also how hard is it to make these fit correctly? I can't find any plans. It's either buy it from a co. or someone else or make it yourself and hope it works.
Thanks.

im in the process of making my own now...not TOO hard as long as your mechanically inclined. im making mine so i have a place for a nitrous tank, as my trunk is already taken up by my stereo setup entirely. back/top is made of a very thin lightweight pegboard. bottom is 1/2" MDF. i had to make it as 2 seperate peices to fit, because the center cross member made it sit too high and it left too much of a gap. i just ordered the carpet, was planning on using one peice to cover the whole bottom, so you cant really see that its 2 seperate peices.

i bought the delete from AM and i would say to just make your own, its just cheap light wood and vinyl carpet, should be able to make it for less than $50 compared to buying one for $150

Oh, I know they would be cheap to make. Those things are hard for me to figure out without some sort of plan to start with though. Oh well..

start with carboard and cut out a template to how you would like it to fit/look. then try to utilize existing holes for mounting or look for places to drill and mount it.

i was going to make one for my 04 and i still might, but id have to put dynomat to keep the drone out....the stock seat does a good job of at least that lol

http://www.rearseatdelete.com/

i wouldnt suggest buying from there (expensive)....but at least there are some pics

here's the rear seat delete kit I'd get....

haha, yeah that said... as everyone else said, Cardboard template first, then 1/2" or even 1'4" MDF, and I would go to an audio store or website and buy trunk carpet to wrap it with.

however, if you're making it for subs... have you considered putting them behind the back seat? I did that on my '95 and got to keep the seat!

Nah, never thought about putting them behind the seat. I suppose that wouldn't be too hard. Just put a board across the back in the trunk to make it look flush I suppose, put the amp on that..

yup, that's what i did. I put my amp over the box under the package tray as well so it was hidden.
here is my trunk view....

i was going to build a beauty board to completely flush the back, but never got around to it before I sold the car.

it's just nice to be able to use the backseat sometimes
