Default Hit by car= Mod money

Hi all,
Long story short, I was riding my motorcycle 2 weeks ago and a lady didn't see me and pulled out in front of me. There was no way to avoid it and I slammed into her passenger door. I got lucky and the only injuries I sustained were 3 bones broken in my shoulder/collarbone and a bump on my head. The bike, not so much. It was a 92 GSXR600 and they promptly totaled it out. The good news is I got more than 2x what I had in the bike.

While I don't know what amount I'll have to work with because I have already paid off a credit card, and will be paying off the car with what comes out of pain and suffering, I am fairly certain I will be able to get my rims/tires (PS'd on my car in the sig) in the next month or so.

I plan on getting 2010 Black Machined replicas from AM, and will most likely have them mount/balance tires as well.

Question #1: 18" or 19" rims, given that down the line I may want to lower the car?
#2: Tire sizes for said rims?
#3: TPMS - Do I need these?
#4: Is there any additional offset stuff I need to know/buy?

Thank you for your time

-Patrick

Well, it depends.

1) If you're going for style, get 19". If you're going for fast or track type, get 18" to get better time results.
2) I don't want to give you the wrong information about tires because I barely have any knowledge when it comes to buying.
3) It is up to you. These TPMS notifies you if you have a low tire pressure. The thing is, they don't tell you which tire is low - you'll have to figure it out (just recently happened to me).
4) I'm not sure about any other additional offset stuff you need to know but I'm sure someone will chime in and tell you what's up.

I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any questions buddy.

Thnx for your reply. I also forgot to mention that I'll be doing a staggered setup, 10" rear 9" front.

I personally cant stand those rims, ugly as hell.

I like bigger wheels on the S197's, so I'd get 19's...

I think if you're considering 19s, you might as well just get 20s. You may be able ot find much more of an assortment to choose from, rims, and tires-wise.

Hey Patrick! Let me throw me 2 cents in, since you were kind enough to ask.

Question #1: 18" wheels will transfer less road shock while you're driving, so they'll feel better. They'll also fit better on a lowered vehicle.
#2: Front tire size: 255-45-18 Rear tire size: 275/40/18
#3: You will need a tpms kit if you don't want the annoying light on your dash. You can find them here: http://www.americanmuscle.com/tpms-fullkit.html
#4: You'll want to pick up some aftermarket lug nuts, since stock lug nuts don't always fit well with aftermarket wheels. There are several good options available, in black and chrome.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I'm always happy to help!
