don't have any suggestions but I am in the same boat... lol... I've got my XM plugged into the center console then I have the wire running under the center console (ran it underneath when I changed to the TCI Shifter) but wouldn't mind having a more convenient one... just in case

I've seen people wire trunk release switches into their glove-box, could you do the same with a push-button start?

Since you already have a power outlet in the center console, you could probably install an outlet somewhere on the exterior of the center console and rewire the existing cable to it. I'm at work and the Stang is home so I can't go take a quick look. I think the front passenger side, just beyond the shifter where a passengers left knee would be might work although I'm not sure what kind of clearance there is behind it.

i put an extra one in the center console, using the stock plug wiring to feed it. easy install, and it was about 9.99 at RadioShack

Put the OEM lighter socket back where it was,
ditch the push to start and convert
to the 'push the clutch pedal to start' mod...

Much nicer that the push to start button.

Wouldn't that make your car want to start every time you pressed the clutch?
